The University of Dodoma
Established in 2007, the University of Dodoma (UDOM) is designed on a collegiate model with six colleges, three schools, and two institutes. Tuition
- No UDOM fee figures could be verified — contact info@udom.ac.tz or +255 752 550 837. Every Tanzanian university student additionally pays the TZS 20,000 annual TCU quality assurance fee, and the HESLB loan is a separate application through OLAMS with a TZS 30,000 fee. Confirm with HESLB that your programme carries loan priority before accepting a place. BUDGET FOR ACCOMMODATION DELIBERATELY: the Chimwaga campus is 8km east of Dodoma in a rural setting, so private housing options nearby are limited and university accommodation matters more here than at city-centre institutions. Dodoma living costs sit below Dar es Salaam, though as the national capital it is dearer than smaller inland towns.
Admissions
- Apply DIRECTLY to the university. Tanzania has no central placement body equivalent to Kenya's KUCCPS.
- DIRECT ENTRY: two ACSEE principal passes at E or above totalling 4.0 points. EQUIVALENT ENTRY via Ordinary Diploma or NTA Level 6 has its own annual TCU guidebook.
- UDOM's scale means it absorbs a large share of national demand, so cut-offs for many programmes are likely to sit closer to the national minimum than at more selective institutions — worth knowing if your points are marginal.
- Applications typically open in June and close around August, with a second window for remaining places.
- Accepts international applicants
- Scholarships or financial aid available
