Sokoine University of Agriculture
Established in 1984, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) traces its origins back to an agricultural college founded in 1964. The university operates across multiple campuses, including the main Edward Moringe Campus and Solomon Mahlangu Campus in Morogoro, as well as specialized campuses in Arusha, Tanga, Katavi, and Ruvuma. Tuition
- No SUA fee figures could be verified — contact sua@sua.ac.tz. Every Tanzanian student pays the TZS 20,000 annual TCU quality assurance fee, and HESLB is a separate OLAMS application with a TZS 30,000 fee; confirm your programme carries loan priority before accepting a place. TWO SUA-SPECIFIC POINTS. First, ASK WHAT FIELD TRIPS AND PRACTICAL ATTACHMENTS COST YOU — agricultural, forestry and wildlife programmes involve substantial fieldwork and those costs are rarely inside the published tuition figure. Second, and more promising: SUA's subject areas sit squarely in international development funding priorities — food security, environmental sustainability, rural development — so ask specifically about research-linked studentships and development-partner scholarships. These are common in the sector and almost never advertised through general channels. Morogoro living costs are well below Dar es Salaam.
