Established in the early 2000s by the International Trust for Education (ITED) as a college, the institution was granted a Letter of Interim Authority in 2016 as RAF International University. It was renamed to the Islamic University of Kenya (IUK) in 2021 and officially awarded a university charter by President William Ruto in November 2024. The university offers undergraduate, diploma, and certificate programs in fields such as Sharia, Islamic studies, business management, education, and information technology across its campuses in Kisaju, Nairobi, and Mombasa.

Tuition

• KES 70,000-150,000 per year — among the lowest private fees in Kenya. Islamic bursaries and community education grants are available. FORMERLY NAMED RAF INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY; the directory entry has been renamed to match the institution's current name, and its domain iuk.ac.ke reflects this. Together with Umma University it is one of only two Islamic universities in the Kenyan data.
