Tuition
- Approximately RWF 2,500,000 to 4,500,000 per academic year, varying between undergraduate BSc programmes and clinical postgraduate MMed residency programmes. THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE INSTITUTION RECORDED IN THE RWANDAN DATA — several times the ~600,000 RWF subsidised rate at UR. COMPETITIVE MERIT AND MINISTRY SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE, and given the fee level you should treat securing one as part of the application rather than an afterthought.
Admissions
- UNDERGRADUATE (BSc Midwifery): Advanced Level (S6 / A2) with TWO PRINCIPAL PASSES IN BIOLOGY AND CHEMISTRY.
- RESIDENCY (MMed / Fellowships): an accredited MBBS/MD degree, A VALID MEDICAL PRACTICE LICENCE, HEC EQUIVALENCY IF YOU TRAINED ABROAD, and performance in AHSU entrance examinations and interviews. The equivalency step is the one that catches foreign-trained applicants — start it early, it is not quick.
- CLINICAL ROTATIONS take place at King Faisal Hospital, RMTH and Level II Teaching Hospitals.
- REGISTRATION IS CONFIRMED: RMDC for medicine, NCNM for nursing and midwifery. You can verify this with the councils directly before enrolling.
- Fees are high by Rwandan standards — ask about merit and Ministry of Health scholarships at the point of application.
